Nikon D50 Tripod Plate Needed How Do I Take Pictures Of The Moon And Clouds Without Overexposing The Moon And Underexposing The Clouds?

How do I take pictures of the moon and clouds without overexposing the moon and underexposing the clouds? - nikon d50 tripod plate needed

I have a Nikon D50 digital SLR with a 70-300 mm lens. Last night I tried to take pictures of clouds and the moon with my tripod, but keep the exposure of the moon (it has a very bright white, but no details of the crater, but the clouds were perfect), or follow the Clouds underexposure (arrived quite cloudless, but the moon was perfect). It seems that the only time I was able to get good photos when the moon was behind the clouds. Sometimes the moon appears twice ... with a light shade. Suggestions and good information about how this happened?
